Device for inhibiting discharge and diffusion of radioactivity
Description
Purpose: To inhibit the transfer of radioactivity discharged from the building site by diffusion into the atmosphere even when an accident of the radioactivity accompanying the failures in the reactor container occurs. Constitution: In the case where radioactive substances such as iodine, cesium, and strontium is discharged out of the building by failures occurring in the vessel and the container in which such radioactive substances are sealed, washing water stored in a pool is introduced into a spray-sparger, whereby radioactive substances discharged from the side surface of the building are washed away downward or sprayed on the entire part of the building in a shower-like state.
