Determination of the radioelements, uranium-238, uranium-235 and thorium and their decay products. Chapter 19.12

A summary is given of the sequence of operations according to which the determination of the actinides and their radioactive decay products in sea water is usually carried out. Reference is made to uranium-238, uranium-235 and thorium-232, but the determination of uranium itself and the estimation of the 234U/238U ratio are discussed in another Section of the book. The following are dealt with individually: lead-210, polonium-210, potassium-40, protactinium-231, radium-226, radium-228, radon-222, and thorium. (U.K.)
