Quantitative measurement of intrarenal mean transit time with deconvolution analysis using the matrix algorithm

Description
Deconvolution is a mathematical technique, which has clinical applications in nuclear medicine especially in renography. Intrarenal parameters derived by deconvolution and are crucial in diagnosing renal disorders such as renal obstructions. We studied 13 patients using deconvolution analysis of renograms and we found that in normal non obstructed kidneys, Parenchymal Mean Transit Time(PMTT) is (3.9 ± 0.5) min. (mean value ± standard deviation). In obstructed kidneys, PMTT was found to be (8.9 ± 1.3) min.19 refs., 3 figs., 1 tab. (Authors)
