Synthesis, crystal structure refinement and properties of perovskite-like structures based on indium

Description
Phases (In, Cu)Sr2YCu2O6+δ (1212) and (In, Cu)(Sr, Ho)2 (Ho, Ce)2Cu2O8+δ (1222) were synthesized in the air and oxygen media, their composition and crystal structure being refined by the Rietveld method. It was ascertained that the absence of superconductivity in indium base strontium phases stems from the low value of formal charge of copper VCu (∼2.04 for 1212 and 2.08 for 1222). Annealing in oxygen did not result in emergence of superconductivity and just promoted change in the phases cation composition. Superconductivity at Tc=80 K was recorded for 1212 type barium-containing phase of the composition (In, Cu)Ba2(Y, Ca)Cu2O6+δ with VCu∼2.15. Annealing of the phase in the air involved VCu reduction to 1.05-2.08 and disappearance of superconductivity
Abstract (Russian)
В воздушной и кислородной средах синтезированы фазы (In, Cu)Sr2YCu2O6+δ (1212) и (In, Cu)(Sr, Ho)2 (Ho, Ce)2Cu2O8+δ (1222), их состав и кристаллическая структура уточнены методом Ритвельда. Установлено, что отсутствие сверхпроводимости в стронциевых фазах на основе индия связано с малым значением формального заряда меди VCu (∼2,04 для 1212 и 2,08 для 1222). Отжиг в кислороде не привел к появлению сверхпроводимости, а способствовал только изменению катионного состава фаз. Сверхпроводимость при Тc=80 К зафиксирована у барийсодержащей фазы типа 1212 состава (In, Cu)Ba2(Y, Ca)Cu2O6+δ со значением VCu∼2,15. Отжиг этой фазы на воздухе привел к снижению VCu до 2,05-2,08 и исчезновению сверхпроводимостиAdditional details
