Thermoluminescence glow curve with second order kinetics
Description
The features of the thermoluminescence (TL) glow curve with second order kinetics are found to be different than that of a first order glow curve. Mechanisms responsible for the appearance of a TL glow curve have been reinvestigated. A modification has been proposed of the existing Adirovitch set of equations. An attempt has also been made to develop a general expression for representing the TL intensities of first and second order glow curves. It has been found that equal concentrations of trapped electrons (n) and recombination centres (m) lead to give a condition for the first order kinetics. For second order kinetics recombination and retrapping probabilities are found to be equal along with the condition m < n. (Author)
