Description

The value of area dose product measurements for the assessment of the radiological equipment, the method of examination, and the educational level of the examiner is pointed out by means of examples. The area dose products gained by conventional techniques are compared to results from image intensifier fluoroscopy and image intensifier photography. The great variance of the average values in stomach radiography between the individual radiologists is related to different educational levels and to different methods of examination as well as to the case material. The portion of the fluoroscopy dose was 50% in conventional technique and 80% in the image intensifier technique In using the diagnostic dosemeter the effect of learning amounts up to 30% dose reduction
