Description
The ground and excited 0+ states of 12C in the α-particle model are studied using the hyperspherical approach. A potential of Ali-Bodmer form adjusted to give the excited state energy is used; the ground state is found slightly underbound. Good agreement with the experimental data concerning the rms radius, the monopole transition rate and the elastic and inelastic electron scattering form factors is found. The spatial configurations of the states are determined. (Auth.)
