Study of subthreshold pion production for 160 induced reaction on 232Th AT 95 MeV/nucleon
Description
Pions and protons emitted at 90O were measured in coincidence with two fission fragments in the reaction 160 + 232Th at 95 MeV/nucleon. The average momentum transfer is 2.5 GeV/c for a pionic reaction and 2.2 GeV/c in the proton case. The data suggest that pion emission occurs over quite a broad range of impact parameters
