SEM and TEM: diffusion of lithium in ZnTe

  • 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Grenoble, 38 (France)

Description

Most of the contrast observed in ZnTe in scanning electron microscopy in the cathodoluminescence mode is due to the sample defects (grain and subgrain boundaries) and to their decoration by lithium, one of the dominant residual impurities in ZnTe. By a lithium doping, the contrast variations are studied and the observation of precipitates in transmission electron microscopy due to this doping is reported. (author)
