Description

In this work, we have investigated the image charge effects on the envelope modes for a mismatched on-axis beam in a general quadrupole focusing lattice. We have used linearly coupled envelope equations with smooth approximation of the focusing lattice. Detailed numerical results for off-axis beam transport in a FODO lattice with image charge effect for a particular focusing and space charge parameter are also presented. (author)
