Description
The SO4.- radical was found to react with hypoxanthine and inosine with diffusion controlled rates (kHyp 6.6 x 109 and kInO 6 x 109 dm3 mol-1 s-1). The absorption spectrum recorded in the reaction of SO4.-with hypoxanthine is similar to that observed in .OH reaction unlike in the case of inosine. A reaction mechanism in the light of the observed results is proposed. (author). 3 refs., 1 fig
