Modal solutions for the dynamic plastic deformation of a beam
Creators
- 1. Argonne National Lab., IL (USA). Materials and Components Technology Div.
Description
A closed-form solution is derived for the dynamic response of a simply supported rigid-plastic beam subject to a spatially varying time-dependent loading. Two methods are presented for obtaining basic mode approximations that predict exactly the velocity and displacement histories at the beam midpoint. (orig.)
