Current status and development trend of nuclear security on small reactors

With the fierce competition in international energy, small reactors have emerged in time. Small area, less investment and short construction period make small reactor have obvious advantages in international energy competition. Nuclear security is an important part of the construction and management for nuclear facilities, which provides an important guarantee for the safety of nuclear facilities and materials. In view of the traditional large and medium-sized reactors, China has established a set of nuclear security system, which has matured. It has strict requirements for construction and supervision. However, with the rapid development of small reactors, the requirements of traditional reactors cannot be fully applied. From the aspects of construction and operation of small reactors, this paper analyzes the present situation and existing problems of nuclear security of small reactors in China by comparing with traditional reactors, and looks forward to the new technology of nuclear security of small reactors in future. The development direction of nuclear security of small reactor is discussed. (authors)
