Sun in the X-rays

Description
On a popular level presented are investigations into the solar X-ray radiation, the radiative state in the earth circumplanetary obtained by soviet and american specialized . The principle of measuring and analyzing the solar X-ray spectrum is described, the graph of energy distribution in the X-ray range is presented. Considered are the coronal condensations contributing mainly to the corona X-ray radiation and the nature of physical processes of the condensations. The graphs of results of investigations into the corona structure during eclipse and using a scanning heliograph are given. Investigated is the development of solar flare, considered are the ''thermal'' and ''non-thermal'' flare models and mechanisms of the radiation polarization. The data on measuring the X-ray polarization degree using polarimeters of ''Interkosmos'' specialized satellites are presented. The block-diagram and photograph of the X-ray polarimeters are given. The satellite data have shown that the solar flare breaks into elementary bursts and is accompanied by radiowave radiation bursts. It is acknowledged that the idea of flare being a series of elementary bursts satisfactorily explains the durable retention of polarization and facts, proving the existnce of energetic electron fluxes at the late flare stages
