Description

The GEF project is a major initiative in energy efficiency in Romania. It has clear objectives that when they are achieved will advance the diffusion of energy efficiency technologies and management techniques, as well as assist in reducing GHG emissions. It will benefit the Government programmes as well as the individual enterprises, Regias and municipalities. Trough improved energy efficiency Romanian industry can: a) reduce costs; b) increase competitiveness; c) reduce environmental pollution. The project represents a departure for the GEF from previous energy efficiency projects and assuming it is successful, will attract national and international attention. (author)
