Wall device for the prevention of tritium permeation
Description
Purpose: To suppress the amount of tritium permeating through wall body and the amount of tritium permeating into sodium in liquid coolants for cooling the wall main body under sufficiently small values without reducing the mechanical strength of the wall body and cooling performance. Constitution: The wall body of a thermonuclear reactor has a double structure, that is, a first wall member made of stainless steels and a second wall member made of copper which is excellent in heat conductivity and has small tritium permeation rate; therein coolant channels at a predetermined pitch and cavities are disposed in the second wall member. On the other hand, tritium removing system is constituted as a closed loop, in which one of the opening ends of the cavities are connected through a tritium removing device and a pump to the other of the opening ends of the cavities, and inert gases, such as, helium gases are sealed within the closed loop.
