Description
Several dialkyl aliphatic amides have been synthesized and investigated in our laboratory, under the conditions prevailing in the PUREX process. Among the amides studied, N, N-dihexyl octanamide (DHOA) is a promising candidate owing to its relatively good uranium (VI) loading capacity and better stripping behaviour compared to that of TBP. It is therefore considered as a promising alternative to TBP in the PUREX process
