Emissions abatement and geological storage of CO2

An international colloquium about the emissions abatement and sequestration of CO2 was organized in Paris on September 15-16 2005 by IFP, Ademe and BRGM. The aim was to take stock of the international stakes of global warming and to debate about the abatement of CO2 emissions through examples taken in the energy and transport sectors. The last day was devoted to the technological advances in CO2 capture and geological storage and to their regulatory and economical implications. This article summarizes the content of these debates.
