Description

Thermodesorption of impurities from a dielectric crystal surface can be stimulated by absorption of high-frequency phonons, e.g., Debye phonons. We study this process in the framework of a truncated-harmonic-oscillator model and find the desorption rate by methods of quantum statistics. In this paper, we present the estimates for the mean desorption rates that are simple, realistic, and at the same time allow us to predict a series of physical effects in thermodesorption processes
