Kinetic processes of HCO3-/CO2 in human

Description
In order to investigate the kinetic processes of HCO3-/CO2 and CO2 expiration in normal adults, 13C labeled NaHCO3 was employed as a tracer. After intravascular bolus injection, 13C abundances in CO2 in breath gas samples were monitored for 150 minutes. Based on the two compartment model, a series of kinetic parameters were calculated and the mean CO2 expiratory rate in 8 subjects was found to be 63.2%
