Thermal stability of silver atoms in γ-irradiated silver-containing zeolites

  • 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)

Description

The method of electron spin resonance was used to investigate the thermal stability of silver atoms, prepared by the effect of 60Co γ-rays at 77 K on silver ions, introduced into zeolites of NaA and NaX types. It is shown that thermal stability of silver atoms in γ-irradiated zeolites is primarily determined by the initial number of silver ions, introduced into systems under investigation, and by the zeolite type. Silver atoms in zeolites with low content of introduced silver ions are the most stable ones. ESR spectrum of silver atoms, stabilized in zeolite of NaX type, disappears on sample heating up to 150 K, whereas silver atoms, stabilized in zeolite of NaA type appear in ESR spectra at 220 K
