Safety characteristics of 'Hualong One'
Description
The 177 fuel assemblies, advanced in core instrumentations and reactor coolant system, are adopted in 'Hualong One'. The inherent safety of reactor and the thermal margin of reactor core have been improved. Active + passive safety system are used in 'Hualong One', and diverse approaches am available in 'Hualong One' to perform safety functions both in DBA and BDBA/SA conditions. Single unit layout and double-shell containment providing physical separation, and reducing interaction between units. These design characteristics meets the latest requirements of third generation PWR. (author)
