Description

In a recent article, an easy simulation with a calculation code has been used to account satisfactorily for the corrosion of zircaloy 4 in steam. The experiments had been conducted in autoclave at 400 degrees Celsius under a pressure of 10 MPa. The same modelling is used here to study the influence of the tin rate on the corrosion resistance of Zr-Sn binary alloys. As a matter of fact, tin has no appreciable effect (at least for the studied duration: 220 days) on the oxidation resistance. (O.M.)
