A journey through time domain astrophysics

Description

The main goal of the research conducted by me over the recent years was the study of two peculiar classes of transient and variable sources, Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) and magnetars. I will first present the context of GRB and magnetar science, and then some results I was able to obtain concerning these two classes of sources. Then I will present two of the instrumental projects I lead or I'm deeply involved in, which either contributed to obtain the above results or will contribute to obtain new ones. (author)
