Description

The main metrological parameters of the most well-known techniques of uranium determination in natural objects are compared. It is shown that the method of delayed neutrons permits to determine uranium in rocks, ores and minerals with the sensitivity of 5x10-7 %, in oils and waters with the sensitivity of 0.05 μg/l under irradiation by thermal neutron flux of 2x1012 neutron/ cm2xsec. The results reproducibility is 1-10 % in the range of contents from 1x10-6 to 100 %. Rapidity (duration of one analysis is less than 3 min) and absence of chemical treatment of samples are the advantages of the technique. According to the complex of parameters the analysis for uranium based on delayed neutrons to a higher degree corresponds to the requirements of geochemical investigations
