Nuclear reactor control rod
Description
The patent claim pertains to an improvement to increase the efficiency of control rods for nuclear reactors. This is achieved by arranging the plenum (for the gases escaping during burn-up) outside the core on the face of the control rod. The linked sections inside the rod can then be completely filled with neutron-absorbing material. (RW)

Es wird eine Verbesserung an einem Steuerstab, der fuer schnelle Brueter geeignet ist, vorgeschlagen, die seinen Wirkungsgrad heraufsetzen soll. Man erreicht dies, indem die Sammelvorrichtung fuer beim Abbrand entweichende Gase ausserhalb der Spaltzone an der Stirnflaeche des Steuerstabes angeordnet wird. Die untereinander angelenkten Glieder im Innern des Stabes koennen dann voll mit Neutronenabsorberstoff gefuellt werden. (RW)Files
