Description

Two step resonance ionization with Rydberg level field ionization is proposed to be used for 93mNb/93Nb isomer ratio determination in nuclear reactor fast neutron fluence measurements. Hyperfine structures of the intermediate states 4d45p 4Do1/2 and 4d35s5p 6Do1/2 of 93Nb were measured. The observed 22 GHz hfs in the later case and the big change in the nuclear spin between the isomers indicate that the required selectivity (106) can be achieved. (author)
