Description

The radiation swelling of metals and alloys, related to a pore formation, is caused by 'steam' condensation of quasi equilibrium excessive vacancies. There are many diverse theoretical models used for a study of the process. The report presents outcomes of application of the diffusion model to describe the pore formation process. The main assumptions of the model are as follows:1.The radiation generates a quasi equilibrium concentration of excessive vacancies in a metal 2.Formation of a pore nucleus is a process of the space fluctuation of the excessive vacancies. 3.As soon as a pore gets the critical size, its growth is caused by a diffusion flux.4.The diffusion fluxes of the intersite atoms toward a pore are vital for large-size pores
