Description

: The aim of this study was to analyze the dose of digital mammography (2D) and tomosynthesis (BDT) as well as to investigate the relationship between mean glandular dose (MGD) absorbed, compressed breast thickness (CBT), and compression force (CF). All 2D and DBT exams were performed in the craniocaudal (CC) and mediolateral oblique (MLO) views. Mammographic images of 1800 women were, from 2018 to 2020. VolparaDose RT and SPSS software were used for the analysis of mammographic images and statistical analysis, respectively. Breast thickness ranged from 25 to 109 mm with a median value of 63 mm in CC views and 65 mm in MLO views. The MGD values are in agreement with the literature references: for a 4.5 cm breast, the dose should be less than 2.0 mGy, while for a 9.0 cm breast, it can be up to 6.5 mGy. (author)
