Description
This paper introduces the design of a High Pressure Argon Ionization Chamber. The choosing of the working gas and the material for the chamber is based on the calculation results of the MCNP program and the EGSnrc program. Fit parameters are gained by analyzing the effect of various factors, such as thickness of the wall, diameter of the wall, and the pressure of the working gas, on the performance of the ionization chamber. The experimental results show that the energy response of the ionization chamber is fairly well. (authors)
