The quark and gluon structure of hadrons

Description
The fundamental interactions between quarks and gluons can be described by the Quantum Chromo Dynamics (QCD). However, the structure of the quarks and gluons in hadrons can not be deducted by this fundamental theory. Experimental information on this structure can be obtained by using electromagnetic and weak interactions (f.e. electron scattering on a proton). For the interpretation of such measurements use can be made of QCD to realize a model-independent analysis of the measurements. Attention is paid to the contribution of scattering processes to the present knowledge of the structure of hadrons. 2 figs., 1 tab., 5 refs
