Neutron cross sections for sup(85m)Kr, sup(87m)Sr and sup(91m)Nb isomeric nuclei
Description
The cross section of inelastic acceleration and slowing-down of neutrons are calculated in the framework of Haused-Feshbach approach. In the 0.02 - 2 MeV range the acceleration cross section is of several tenth parts of the barn. For 87sub(m)Sr the mean energy transferred to the neutron in a collision act is positive up to 0.5 MeV, Thus, the isomeric nucleus is not a moderator, but an ''accelerator'' of neutrons
