Description
New ternary compounds Ce5MGe2 (M=Co,Ni,Ru,Rh,Pd,Ir,Pt) were synthesized by arc melting followed by annealing at 870 and 1370 K. Crystallographic characteristics were studied by means of powder diffraction. For Co, Ni and Pd containing compounds, polymorphic transformations have been observed. A Pt-based compound with composition 5:1:2 was not found to exist. Magnetic properties have been investigated for the Ce5MGe2 (M=Ni,Ru,Rh,Pd,Ir) compounds annealed at 870 K. (orig.)
