Application fo Si(Li) detector response function for the analysis of tungsten library standard
Description
A Si(Li) detector energy response function has been applied to investigate the quality of a tungsten library standard, which has been utilized in a least-squares analysis of X-ray fluorescence spectra. Some of the peaks found in the tungsten standard have been identified to belong to elements such as Fe, Co, Ga, and As. Removal of these peaks resulted in a better tungsten library standard. The usefulness of the energy response function for least-squares analysis, when minicomputers are employed and when spectra from thick samples have to be analyzed, is discussed. (orig.)
