Decomposition of soils by the Wickbold method

Description
The Wickbold method as a decomposition system for the following determination of trace elements is presented. Its employment in routine analysis to decompose soils for the determination of antimony, arsenic, mercury and selenium is demonstrated. The decomposition is based on burning the sample in a hydrogen/oxygen flame. One advantage of this method is the separation of those elements, that form volatile halogenids, from the other sample components. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die Wickbold-Methode wird als ein schnelles Aufschlussverfahren fuer die anschliessende Bestimmung von Schwermetallgehalten vorgestellt. Der Einsatz in der Routineanalyse beim Aufschluss von Bodenproben zur Bestimmung von Antimon, Arsen, Quecksilber und Selen wird demonstriert. Der Aufschluss beruht auf der Verbrennung einer Probe in einer Wasserstoff-/Sauerstoffflamme. Ein Vorteil der Methode ist auch die Abtrennung von Elementen, die leichtfluechtige Halogenide bilden, von der uebrigen Probenmatrix. (orig.)Additional details
