(Hg0.8Ti0.2)Sr2(Ca1-x)Cu2O6+δ: a new series of mercury-based 1212 superconductors

Description
A new superconductor (Hg0.8Ti0.2)Sr2(Ca1-x)Cu2O6+δ with Tconset up to 80 K has been isolated for 0.3≤x≤0.6. Rietveld refinements of the structure are carried out with a tetragonal structure of space group P4/mmm. Electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility of the as-prepared and oxygen-annealed samples are measured as a function of temperature. The room-temperature thermoelectric power is found to be positive and large, a characteristic of underdoped samples. (author)
