Study on corrosion products removal in PWR primary circuit

Description
In CVCS of conventional PWR plants in Japan, two mixed-bed demineralizers are arranged in parallel to remove impurities in the letdown water, and one is usually in service and another is on stand-by. Mixed resin with total amount of 850 liters is discharged from the demineralizer every one fuel cycle operation in our plants. On the other hand, a filter with nominal porosity of 25 microns is installed downstream of the demineralizer in Sendai plants. The role of the filter is to catch the fragments of broken resin, so that it is not expected to remove particulate CPs in primary coolant. (authors). 4 figs., 1 tab., 3 refs
