Effect of strain on the critical current density of Bi-2223 thick films sandwiched between Ag sheets

Description
The tapes of (Bi, Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox (Bi-2223) thick film sandwiched between Ag sheets are known to have very high Jc. In this note, the stress-strain behaviour and the strain dependence of critical current density of the Ag/Bi-2223/Ag tapes are investigated. The microstructure of superconducting thick films subjected to various amounts of deformation was examined with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). (orig.)
