Enhanced bioremediation
Description
This paper discusses bioenhanced degradation of organic petroleum hydrocarbons, a technology which can be applied to a wide range of contaminated situations. Phases common to all of our bioremediation projects are discussed to give the reader an appreciation of the state of the technology, the principles that guide projects and the underlying elements. Four classes of application and their advantages and disadvantages are explored. Case histories are presented to illustrate specific examples of adaptation and capabilities of the technology. Current and future themes and trends in the technology are elucidated, but it is left to the reader to draw conclusions concerning the applicability of bioremediation technology to his intended remedial action
