Phasic changes in permeability of the blood-brain barrier after selective γ-irradiation of mice
Description
The aim of this investigation was to determine early changes in permeability of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in mice after irradiation of the head or trunk. Unilateral irradiation with 60Co gamma-quanta, with a dose rate of 1.43 mA/kg on the midline of the animal's body was given. The results show that permeability of BBB was increased immediately after irradiation. A study of correlation between BBB permeability and the frequency of appearance of neurological symptoms which was determined in parallel experiments is shown
