  • 1. Kurume Univ., School of Medicine, Kurume, Fukuoka (Japan)

Description

We retrospectively analyzed 33 cases of T2 supraglottic cancer that had undergone radical radiotherapy in our hospital. We classified supraglottis into two subtypes, epilarynx and supraglottis excluding epilarynx. The 5-year local control rates of epilarynx cancer was 92%, and that of supraglottic cancer excluding epilarynx was 73%. The supraglottic cancer excluding epilarynx tend to resist radiotherapy. We have to decide treatment method carefully either conservative operation or radiotherapy for T2 supraglottic cancer excluding epilarynx. (author)
