Outline of storage facility of bituminized waste packages
- 1. Kobe Steel Ltd. (Japan)
Description
A fully automatic remote-controlled system for storage of 30000 bituminized waste packages has been developed. The system includes a test cell for evaluating the bituminized wastes. The forklift is radio controlled via a data transmission relay vehicle from the stationary control station. Transport safety is secured and storage position monitored by touch sensors, optical sensor and ITV cameras. A rescue robot with crawler can charge the forklift battery, unload the drums, or retract an improper forklift to the maintenance area. The forklift can also be manually operated from the remote station. (author)
