The use and development of ring-imaging Cherenkov counters
Description
This paper reviews the status of four major fixed-target experiments that use RICH counters. The flexibility in adopting the basic RICH counter design to different outer geometical constraints is discussed. As an example of the still-ongoing lively generic development of the RICH method is given the recent discovery of a high-quantum-efficiency, air-resistant CsI-TMAE photocathode
