Observational evidence that the Coma cluster is not bound by ionized intracluster gas

Description
We have obtained an upper limit on the brightness temperature of the core of the Coma duster at 23 GHz, including a correction for Compton scattering of the microwave background by hot gas in the cluster. Our new radio data, in combination with a reinterpretation of our farultraviolet data and an analysis of recent soft X-ray results, allows us to conclude on purely observational grounds that the Coma cluster is not bound by ionized gas.
