Heat transfer between subchannels in a transverse flow around a tube bundle

Description

An experimental technique for and measurement results of the effective turbulent thermal condUctivity of water flowing transversely around a smooth tube bunch are presented. In the test section two flat-parallel fluid flows with the same velocities but with different temperatures move in the same direction across unheated tubes. At the inlet and outlet of the test section the flows are separated by heat-insulating partitions. In the middle part there is no partitithon, here ermal interaction of hot and cold coolant takes place. The velocity dependences of the transverse effectiveness of the water thermal conductivity are given for the Reynolds numbers from 150 to 3500. On the basis of experimental data the conclusion on anisotropy of mixing in the bunch of transversely flowed-ground tubes is drawn
