Vibrations of a rigid disc on a layered viscoelastic medium
Description
A method of obtaining the dynamic impedance functions for a rigid circular foundation placed on a layered visoelastic half-space is presented. Both hysteretic and Voigt models of internal damping are considered. The results obtained indicate that the presence of internal damping introduces important changes in the dynamic response of the foundation for vertical, rocking and horizontal steady-state excitation.
