New chemical sensors for environment protection

Description

The proposed research aims at the creation of novel chemical sensors for determination of heavy metal ions with excellent analytical performance - excellent selectivity, high chemical durability, wide temperature range of stability, low detection limits and fast response. These chemical devices give an opportunity for extremely fast and cheap control of the potential possible ways of pollution - emissions in flue gases and ash wastes from thermal power plants combustion processes, products from desulphurization installations, industrial and drinking waters, soil, foodstuffs, biological liquids, etc. New multicomponent chalcogenide glassy bulk materials with additions of heavy metal ions are suggested as advanced sensor materials on the base of the investigated application relevant properties. The achievements in the creation of Zn2+ - ions selective chemical sensors are reported and their analytical characteristics were summarized and discussed
