Effects of vegetation roof shielding on indoor temperatures

  • 1. Rome Univ. La Sapienza (Italy). Dipt. di Fisica Tecnica

Description

The effects that a vegetation layer shielding a roof cover has on indoor ambient temperatures are investigated in the case of absence of an air-conditioning system. The thermal behaviour and effectiveness of the vegetation covers with different average absorbency for solar radiation and diffuses properties which shield roof-covering structures of different masses are analyzed through a finite-difference simulation model. The influence of the outdoor ventilation airflow rates the main environmental parameters is discussed
