Normandy. La Hague under perfusion

This article proposes a focus on the situation at the La Hague plant which is weakened by Areva losses and by the gloominess of the nuclear sector. As a result, it now almost only works for EDF. If foreign nuclear fuels to be processed represented one third of the processed tons during the 2000's, they now only represent 3 per cent. Order perspectives are bad, notably because of the Fukushima accident, the shutdown of Japanese reactors, and the freezing of projects everywhere in the World. Moreover, Japan foresees to use its own processing plant in the future. As a compensation, EDF is delivering more materials to be processed by providing spent fuels which have been warehoused in pools for many years. However, Areva is planning higher investments on this site
