Kinetic aspects of solvent extraction processes involved in the separation of uranium from phosphoric acid

  • 1. Rare Earths Development Section, Materials Group, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

Kinetics of the mass transfer processes involved in the solvent extraction of uranium processes employing synergistic organo phosphorus extractant mixtures have been studied. In this investigation, data on the mass transfer kinetics of uranium from phosphoric acid medium by solvent extraction process employing Lewis cell by D2EHPA + TBP/TOPO have been discussed. The rate constants for the two extractant systems are reported. The effect of acid concentration on uranium extraction rate from 6 M phosphoric acid has been discussed. (author)
